Our History
Rangely District Hospital History
For decades, Rangely District Hospital has proudly served the health needs of our community, helping generation after generation achieve better health. Established in 1952, RDH has continually worked to meet the evolving medical needs of the region, making a significant impact on healthcare access for the residents of Rangely and surrounding areas.
In 2013, we opened a new, state-of-the-art facility designed to provide advanced healthcare services in a rural setting. This new facility earned the designation of a Level IV Trauma Center by the State of Colorado, allowing us to provide critical care to those in need of immediate trauma services in Northwest Colorado.
Remarkably, during our inspection just one day after moving into the new facility, RDH received a perfect score—a testament to our commitment to excellence. Our high score reflects the specialized care we provide in rural and frontier health, where our dedicated team and resources combine to ensure life-saving medical care is accessible to remote trauma patients.
Our hospital remains deeply committed to meeting the unique healthcare challenges of our region, offering comprehensive services and ensuring that care is available right here in Rangely.
